As a musician and a gear nerd, I created this website as a platform to document knowledge on gear and music I acquired through much trial and error over the years, in the hopes that someone out there will find this information useful. Thanks for visiting!

Introduction

Hey there,

My name is Euntaek, but most people just call me E.T. (easier to remember, easier to pronounce). I’ve been playing music for quite a number of years, starting off with classical piano like any normal Asian kid, and made the transition to contemporary & jazz piano/keyboards towards the end of my teens. I stuck to playing keys for a while, but I love to dabble in things, and throughout the next few years, I taught myself how to play guitar & bass, and that’s when discovered the world of gear I instantly fell in love with.

After several years of trying out everything gear-related I could get my hands on and buying & selling a large number (one that I am ashamed to admit and frankly, lost count) of instruments and equipment, I acquired a considerable pool of knowledge in this area. Having gotten to place where I can formulate a signal chain to get exactly (or very close to) what I want to get in terms of tone has proved valuable to me, and that’s when I thought it would be useful to document everything I figured out over the years into one place.

That’s where this website comes in. I hang out in several online gear forums and see a familiar set of questions pop up all the time, many of them from members who are just starting out. I intend to address many of those issues here, as well as providing information on topics I found useful when it came to choosing the right gear for the given circumstances. However, I am not limiting this website to just be purely about gear - from time to time you may find articles that deal with the playing/performance aspect of music (possibly technical), being a musician, or even stories from the road.

All in all, I want this website to be a one-stop gear/music information hub - something I wish I had when I just started out. If at least one person finds any of the information on this website useful or helpful, I know I'd be pretty happy about it.

See you next time!

- E.T.
